Book Week

Last Wednesday, our library was found to have little creatures such as fairies, witches and warlocks and all sorts of things scuttling around the place. Even Robin Hood was there! On a closer inspection we found out the 'little creatures' were actually children who were dressed up as their favorite character from their favorite book. This was because it was book week!

Book week ran from the 18th of February until the 22th of February. Throughout this week many activities were held for the children's benefit. Such activities included a daily children's story time, daily arts and crafts relating to childhood favorite books and most importantly the fashion show. The children were judged by members of the library committee who had to select a girl and boy who were the best dressed. Each winner received a $30 gift voucher and everyone else received a special bookmark. After hours of deciding who the winners were, the committee finally gave the names of the two winners. The winner for 2008 are, Barry Smith who dressed as Captain Hook from the book Peter Pan by J.M Barrie and to Elizabeth-Jane Collins who dressed as Alice from Alice in Wonderland written by Lewis Carroll. Congratulations to you both for all of your efforts.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week possible.
